Quick answer: EBT discounts are lower prices that museums, stores and service companies give people who show a SNAP EBT card. As of October 2026, the biggest are free to $5 museum entry through Museums for All1 and Amazon Prime for $6.99 a month.2 Lifeline also takes up to $9.25 a month off phone or internet service.3

No government program gives out free tablets or laptops with EBT, and the federal device discount ended on June 1, 2024.4 To see if you qualify for SNAP itself, start with our SNAP (food stamps) guide.

What discounts can you get with an EBT card?

These are the national offers we confirmed on each program's own page. Your EBT card only proves you get SNAP; you pay the lower price another way.5

What museums and zoos are free with EBT?

More than 1,600 museums take part in Museums for All, in all 50 states, DC and the U.S. Virgin Islands.1 They include zoos, aquariums, science centers, children's museums and botanical gardens.1 The program comes from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, a federal agency, working with the Association of Children's Museums.13

  1. Find a museum. Search the Museums for All list. Participating museums offer the price during all normal hours.1
  2. Bring your SNAP EBT card and a photo ID. You don't need to register first.5
  3. Pay the reduced price. Each card covers up to four people, and some museums allow more.5

Your card works at participating museums in any state, not just your own.5 Many museums also take a WIC card, but they don't have to, so call ahead.5 A zoo or museum that isn't on the list may have its own low-income price, or none at all.5

How do you get the Amazon Prime EBT discount?

Sign up for Prime Access. It costs $6.99 a month for people on SNAP and other assistance programs, compared with $14.99 for regular monthly Prime.2 You get all of Prime, including free delivery and streaming.6

  1. Go to amazon.com/primeaccess and select Get Started.6
  2. Choose SNAP, enter your EBT card number and upload a clear photo of the card.6
  3. Wait for the email. Some checks take up to seven business days, and you get Prime benefits while you wait.6
  4. Verify again every 12 months to keep the lower price.6

Can you get Walmart+ with EBT?

Yes. Walmart+ Assist is half price for people on SNAP, WIC, Medicaid and similar programs: $6.47 a month or $49 a year.7 It includes one ad-supported streaming service, Peacock Premium or Paramount+ Essential, and you can switch every 90 days.7 DoorDash and Instacart have their own SNAP plans, covered in our guide to using EBT for grocery delivery.

Can I get a free Costco membership with EBT?

No. Costco says it doesn't offer free or discounted memberships.14 Sam's Club is the closer deal. New members on SNAP who join online for $60 get $20 in Sam's Cash, if they haven't had an active membership in the last 6 months.8 Our Costco, Sam's Club and BJ's EBT guide compares all three clubs.

Can you get a free phone with EBT?

You can get free or cheap phone service. SNAP qualifies you for Lifeline, a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) program that discounts phone or internet service.3 Lifeline takes up to $9.25 a month off internet or bundled service, or up to $34.25 on Tribal lands.3 Phone-only service gets up to $5.25.3

The phone itself is a different matter. The FCC doesn't pay for any hardware, so a "free government phone" is the provider's own offer.3

  1. Find a provider. The FCC's Companies Near Me tool lists Lifeline companies in your area.3
  2. Apply. Use the National Verifier online, apply by mail, or ask the provider to help. Texas and Oregon use their own state process.3
  3. Show SNAP proof. Documents must be dated within the past 12 months.3

Only one Lifeline benefit is allowed per household, meaning everyone at your address who shares income and expenses.15 You must recertify every year.3 If your plan has no monthly charge, you must use it at least once every 30 days.3

Can you get a free tablet with EBT?

Not from the government. Lifeline pays toward service only, and the FCC doesn't subsidize devices.3 The last federal device help was a one-time discount of up to $100 on a laptop, desktop or tablet through the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP).4 That program ended on June 1, 2024.4

If a carrier offers you a tablet, it's the carrier's own promotion, so read the device terms before you sign up.3 The FCC has warned that some websites still advertise ACP and collect personal information.4 If you gave your details to a site offering ACP enrollment, the FCC points you to IdentityTheft.gov for next steps.4

Can you get a free laptop with EBT?

Usually not free, but you can get one at a discount. PCs for People sells refurbished laptops at a discount to people who send SNAP or EBT documents and a photo ID.12 Documents need your full name and a date within the last 12 months.12 The group says approval means a discounted laptop, not a free one.12 Xfinity's Internet Essentials program also offers low-cost computers to qualifying households.9

Can you get free internet with food stamps?

SNAP can get you cheaper home internet in two main ways:

  • Lifeline: Up to $9.25 a month off home internet or a phone-and-internet bundle, from a participating provider.3
  • Low-income plans: Xfinity Internet Essentials costs $14.95 a month for speeds up to 75 Mbps, or $29.95 for up to 100 Mbps.9 It's for new customers with no unpaid Comcast balance.9 Access from AT&T accepts households on SNAP or with income below 200% of the federal poverty guideline.16

The ACP, which took up to $30 a month off internet bills, ended in 2024, so any ad that still offers it is out of date.4

What other perks come with SNAP?

  • More produce: Double Up Food Bucks runs at more than 1,700 locations in dozens of states.11 In Michigan, it matches SNAP dollars spent on fruits and vegetables, up to $20 a day.11
  • Scooter and bike rides: Lime Access gives discounted rides to people on SNAP, Medicaid, WIC and other programs.10 Without a smartphone, you can text +1 (888) 495-5014 to unlock a ride. Without a credit card, you can pay cash through PayNearMe.10
  • Bills: Help with heating and cooling bills comes from LIHEAP and other programs on our related assistance page. Our guide to LIHEAP and SNAP explains how the two connect.

Which EBT perks are outdated or wrong?

Many perk lists repeat offers that ended or never applied to SNAP.

How we checked this

On October 26, 2026, we opened the page for each offer above, plus the FCC, USAC and California State Parks pages listed under Sources. The SNAP sign-up count comes from a query of confirmed PantryPath listings the same day.

We did not test any offer in person, and we left out deals at single zoos or transit systems. If something has changed, email corrections@pantrypath.com.

Next step: if you don't have SNAP yet, our SNAP guide shows the income limits and how to apply in your state.
